If you're in the Alanya area and need a proper adrenaline rush, open the GetYourGuide app immediately.

I did it in the autumn of 2025 – and I still can't quite believe what I experienced.

I was scrolling through activities when I suddenly spotted a 20-minute paragliding flight... for €10 (70 DKK). At first, I thought it was a mistake. But no – the price was real. Why it was so extremely low, I still don't know. Maybe it was the low season, maybe there were fewer tourists than usual. Either way, I hit "Book" without hesitation.

There are plenty of other cool experiences like white-water rafting, hot air balloon rides, and buggy tours, so you won't necessarily be bored at the beach all day. Kitesurfing didn't really happen as the wind was totally absent, but luckily we got some airtime in another way!

From the hotel to the top of the mountain

The next day, I was picked up directly from my hotel along with a group of other excited participants. We hopped into a minibus, and the mood was already high – a mix of nervousness and anticipation.

First, we drove to their office for a thorough safety briefing. The instructor, a calm and very experienced Turkish pilot who had been paragliding for 8-10 years, went through the whole process: how we should run for takeoff, how the harness worked, and what would happen in the air. He was professional, patient, and made us all feel safe – even though my heart was pounding.

Afterwards, we all hopped back into the minibus and drove up the winding, steep roads toward the summit of the mountain. The higher we got, the quieter the bus became. The view over the Bay of Alanya was already insane, and the nerves grew with every hairpin turn.

Finally – it's my turn

When we reached the launch site, we were geared up one by one. When it was my turn, I stood there with my harness and parachute while the wind blew in my face. It sounds easy, but when you're standing on the edge, you completely forget how your legs work!

“Ready? Let’s run!”

We ran a few steps... and then the ground was suddenly gone.

The rush over Alanya

Feel the rush: 300 meters above Cleopatra Beach!

The first second is pure panic. Then comes the rush.

And then… silence.

I was gliding 200-300 meters above the ground with an absolutely fantastic view of the entire Alanya Bay, Cleopatra Beach, the castle, and the turquoise sea. It feels like flying like a bird. Pure freedom.

The instructor was super experienced and performed some smooth turns so we could enjoy the panorama from every angle. He also took some cool GoPro photos and videos along the way – without a helmet, so you could really see the facial expressions (a mix of laughter, shock, and pure happiness).

Landing on Cleopatra Beach

After about 20 wonderful minutes in the air, we came in for a landing. We touched down softly directly on the sand at Cleopatra Beach. It was almost cinematic.

Afterwards, the minibus drove us all back to the office, where the trip ended.

The only expensive part

The only thing that actually cost a significant amount on the whole trip was the photo package. If you want all the photos and videos from the air – including 360-degree shots and GoPro footage – it costs around €65 (500 DKK). That’s actually the most expensive part of the entire experience.

But honestly? It's almost worth the money if you want the most incredible memories to take home.

My recommendation

If you're in Alanya and want a real adrenaline rush at a ridiculously good price, check out the GetYourGuide app. Prices fluctuate a lot, and in the low season, you might be lucky enough to hit some absolutely insane deals – like my €10 paragliding trip.
